Continuous rain in Delhi has broken records. Delhi has recorded 88.2 mm of rainfall in January this year- an all-time record.

This is the highest rainfall in the capital since 1901, since the India Meteorological Department (IMD) started keeping records.

Predictably, heavy rainfall led to severe waterlogging in many parts of the national capital. Widespread rainfall is also recorded over Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.

In Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, at least seven people were killed and 16 others injured in separate rain-related incidents during a recent spell of heavy rains.
