After enjoying a series of shows with international artistes from India, Auckland is now gearing up for a season of locally produced shows. One of the upcoming shows is Old is Gold-10 to be held on November 24 at Dorothy Winston Centre, Auckland.

The musical show dedicated to the evergreen Bollywood songs from yesteryears is the 14th musical concert organised by Mohammed Rafi Academy of Music (MRAM) and will feature a line up of some well-known as well as some new artists from Auckland.

The founder of MRAM Amit Sengupta who has been getting the team together for regular rehearsals despite his bad health, says that he will continue singing even though he might not be able to organise shows himself.

The show will feature music veterans Amit Sengupta, Vidya Teke, Arif Zia, Joseph Jose as well as some young guns like Rachit Bhatia and Srishaa Iyer. Accompanying these singers will be some renowned musicians from Auckland.

Mr Sengupta said that he’s been fortunate enough to have houseful shows every year and appreciate the fact that people have been kind enough to come and listen to them.

“We are not superstars like Mohammad Rafi (veteran Bollywood singer). If people come to our concerts, then it is our responsibility to give them value for their money. And this will be our goal this year too.”

Singers and musicians featuring in this show are Amit Sengupta, Anwesha Deb, Arif Zia, Vidya Teke, Swati Sharma, Hemant Thaker, Ismail Ganchi, Joscel Alexandar, Joseph Alexander, Joseph Jose, Moneesh Mittal, Monitosh Thakur, Navneel, Pradipta Mukherjee, Pravin Chand, Rachit Bhatia, Sandhya Rao, Shibashish Dutta Chowdhury, Srishaa Iyer, Sucheta Bannerjee, Swanand Sanjeev Chitnis, Umar Ali and Vishnu Sreekumar.

The tickets valued at $25 only are available online on www.ticketbazaar.co.nz (no surcharge) and can also be bought at Yogi ji’s Foodmart Mt Roskill, Lotus Super Market Stoddard Road and Manukau, and Eggs & More in Sandringham.
