A 25-year-old Indian man living in Auckland is reported to have gone missing since Saturday, April 14.
Jasbinder Singh lived with a relative Sandeep Singh in Papatoetoe who is a truck driver and also owns a dairy store in South Auckland. He came to New Zealand four years ago as a student at Unitec and is currently on an interim visa.
Relatives of Jasbinder in Papatoetoe told media that he was last seen on Friday and he did not return home. Jasbinder’s relative Sandeep Singh last spoke to him on Saturday at 7:05 p.m., when he mentioned he would return in an hour.
Sandeep Singh also said that Jasbinder said he was at a railway station when he last spoke to him.
He has gone missing since.
Jasbinder’s family is concerned about his wellbeing as they have not heard from him since.
Jasbinder’s brother Jasbir Singh who lives in Sydney, Australia spoke to him last on Tuesday, April 10.
“Jasbinder spoke to his mother in Sydney every day but last spoke to her on Saturday morning,” Jasbir Singh told The Indian Weekender.
Jasbinder’s family members confirmed that he was of sound mind and ruled out any self-harm. The family fears if any mishap has happened to him.
“My brother is a very jovial and happy person. He likes cricket and would often go out on trekking with friends but never without informing the family," Jasbir Singh said.
Jasbinder’s brother Jasbir came to Auckland on Monday, April 16 and filed a missing report to the police at 6 p.m.
