Hundreds of devotees attended the Jagannath Rath Yatra at BAPS – Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Christchurch that celebrated Shree Jagannath, an avatar of Lord Krishna. The festival was celebrated on 15 July 2018. Devotees came to seek blessings of Lord Krishna.

The celebrations began around 5 p.m. with a group of devotees singing dhun, prarthana and kirtans. There were videos shown of the celebrations in India and blessings by Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj.

One of the devotees also delivered a lecture on How to maintain the refuge of God. Thereafter the Rath or mini chariot was pulled around the mandir hall by the devotees. 

A Mahaprasad followed the Aarti and Dhun. This is an annual event celebrated at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Christchurch.
